Membership Certificates & Certificates of Achievement

27th July 2008

If you have paid your subscriptions for 2007/08, you should have received your new certificates by email

The Membership Certificate shows that you are a fully paid up member of ISSA and will be re-issued each year

The Student Certificates have been re-designed to give greater prominence to your school and also allow you to award certificates up to Level 3

If you have not received your certificates, please email Ralph ISSA@SailingSchools.org

Membership Subscriptions

6th June 2008

Membership fees for 2007/8 are now due

Payment of invoices must be received no later than 30th June 2008

If payment is not received by this date, member details will be removed from the ISSA web site

If payment is not received by the Annual General Meeting, membership of ISSA will be withdrawn

Si le paiement n'est pas reçu à cette date, les informations figurant sur le site de l'ISSA seront effacées

Si le paiement n'est pas reçu avant la date de l'Assemblée Générale, l'assiciation ne peut participer aux votes.

El pago de esta factura debemos recibirlo antes del 30 de Junio del 2008.

En caso de no haber recibido el pago en esa fecha, los datos de contacto de vuestra Entidad deberán ser retirados del sitio web de la ISSA.

En caso de no recibir este pago antes de la Reunión General Anual de la ISSA en Otoño 2008, deberá anularse la afiliación de su Entidad a la ISSA.

2008 Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting will be held on 7th October 2008 in Vienna, Austria

Our Vice President, Markus Griessler is organising the meeting and further information will be available at a later date. Hope to see you there!!

Barcelona Annual General Meeting & Council Agendas

The AC meeting will will be held immediately after the AGM and all ISSA members are welcome to attend

The Conference, AGM & AC meetings will all take place in one of the conference halls at the Barcelona Boat Show. Conference instructions and passes to gain free access to the Boat Show and ISSA event will be issued at the Welcome Dinner at the Restaurante Txalaparta on Friday evening at 20:00hrs - see you all there!!

Barcelona Conference Programme & Travel

The conference fee for delegates will be 20 € which will include Friday evening meal, conference fee, coffee breaks, entry fee for the boat show, etc.

Friday evening will be a non formal dinner based on some of the typical Spanish "tapas" sort of meals. So you should expect tasting several different specialties, moving around (no tables or chairs) which will allow all of us to freely interact with one another. Of course, some Spanish wine and other drinks will be available as well.

Guests will be charged 20 € for the Friday evening meal

If we decide to have a Saturday dinner all together, we can discuss later but it will be an extra cost.

I will be arriving in Barcelona on Wednesday evening 31st October and will be staying at the Hotel Catalonia-Castellnou.

I suggest that for those staying at the Hotel Castellnou, we meet on Friday in the hotel bar at 19:00hrs

EBay Certificate FRAUD!!!!!

Someone has been trying to sell ISSA Level 1 certificates on EBay

THIS IS A FRAUD AND IS NOT APPROVED BY ISSA!!

Any sensible person will realise that buying a certificate without being examined is wrong.

Also, who would buy a piece of paper for €299 which simply declares that you have 400 hours sailing experience??

The EBay auction has now ended and thank you to all those people who emailed the ISSA office

Barcelona Conference & AGM November 2nd/4th

This years annual conference and AGM is being hosted by Federació Catalana de Vela in Barcelona. FCV have been working very hard to organise the event on behalf of ISSA and it promises to be an excellent weekend, with the conference & AGM being held in the same venue as the Barcelona Internation Boat Show.

Members are requested to make their own arrangements for acommodation. More information about the programme and suggested hotels are available here

Translators Required

Sorry but the new site is only available in English. We need members to volunteer to translate the English web site into French, Spanish, Italian, Polish and any other main languages. If you have the time to translate the new web site and keep it up to date, please email Ralph issa@sailingschools.org

The new web site means that existing members will need to re-register with their email address, your previous logon & password will not work. Access to the new Members Room is not automated as we need to check that your membership is up to date.

When you have registered, you will receive an email confirming that you have approval to access the Members Room
